Sustainability & Responsibility

At Arctic Delice, we recognize that selling high-quality meat and delicacies such as caviar involves a responsibility — to nature, to our partners, and to our customers.
While our products are not fully "sustainable" in the strictest sense, we are committed to making conscious choices that reduce environmental impact wherever possible.

1. Responsible Sourcing

We work with trusted small-scale suppliers and licensed hunters in Finland and neighboring countries, ensuring that all meat and fish products come from legally approved, traceable sources.
Whenever possible, we prioritize local and seasonal ingredients, supporting responsible wildlife management and small Finnish producers.

All wild-sourced products comply with EU and Finnish regulations, including CITES requirements where applicable.

2. Packaging and Materials

We continuously improve our packaging to reduce waste and environmental footprint.
Our packaging is designed to be:

  • Durable and protective, maintaining product quality and safety;
  • Reusable, whenever possible (for example, glass jars, tins, and sturdy boxes);
  • Recyclable, according to local waste categories: paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, and metal.

We avoid unnecessary materials, and we work with suppliers who share our goal of responsible production and efficient logistics.

3. Logistics and Energy Use

Our storage and delivery operations follow strict temperature and hygiene standards while aiming to minimize waste and optimize delivery routes.
We collaborate with logistics partners who offset emissions or apply energy-efficient practices where available.

Cold-chain integrity is essential to product safety, and we ensure this with minimal excess energy use.

4. Supporting Local Businesses

We believe sustainability includes the economic sustainability of local communities.
Whenever possible, we choose local suppliers, artisans, and service providers from Finland and nearby regions.
This helps maintain traditional skills, supports small producers, and reduces unnecessary transport distances.

5. Continuous Improvement

Sustainability is a journey, not a destination.
We are committed to learning, improving, and being transparent about the steps we take.
As technology and best practices evolve, so will our approach — always with respect for the environment, our customers, and the origins of the food we share.
